The Residences at Biltmore is Becoming Lantern Lodge

When Tropical Storm Helene arrived in Western North Carolina in late September 2024, it delivered destruction and hardship of an unimaginable and historically unprecedented scale and scope.

In the aftermath, communities across the region — including the City of Asheville — experienced weeks or months without power, water, or communications.

The recovery effort required a period of region-wide reinvention. Workers became volunteers; restaurants became food banks; parks became distribution sites for water and rations.

As for us— our unique floor plans and amenities allowed us to reinvent ourselves as home away from home for many of the first responders, cleanup crews, lineworkers, and engineers from all over the country who, as days turned into weeks and weeks turned into months, restored power, communications, and normalcy to our town and region.

So in the spirit of reinvention, and in tribute to the heroes we hosted, the resilience of our staff and community, and the bright future that awaits Western Carolina and East Tennessee:

Starting from January 2026, we’d like to formally welcome you to Lantern Lodge: a beacon of hope, positivity, and enduring hospitality in the beautiful Blue Ridge mountains.
